What a magnificent hotel!!! This was my 2nd time staying here and the 2nd exceeded the 1st. I believe it is because the 1st time staying, things were still being built/added to the wharf area. I would highly recommend this hotel for several reasons. One - the ambiance of the hotel and the room - very very clean and quiet. Two - the view from the room -- breathtaking. I elected to get the King Studio Suite with my 2nd visit and didn't get much rest because I couldn't stop looking out of the window at the panoramic view of Haines Point, Arlington (Crystal City), the 14th Street Bridge and even the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and right outside the window - the beautiful pier and marina. Phenomenal views! Note: with my first visit, I stayed in the King Suite which is also very lovely and a bigger space (with a living room area and eating area). However, the views were not the same (just of the courtyard that's shared with the adjacent hotel). And there are restaurants and bars galore! Whiskey Charlie (small but decent bar/lounge) right upstairs (just be mindful there's not a lot of seating indoors and unfortunately, they were renovating the outdoor area (adding a retractable awning) so seats were limited), an oyster bar right next door and Starbucks. Great options in the hotel or within a few feet of the hotel. Everything is nearby in terms of food choices. Even a CVS is housed within a five-minute walk. Also, in my humble opinion, it is worth doing valet parking. And even the parking staff were very pleasant and just as accommodating as the hotel staff. HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Well. other than learning that the breakfast was roughly $34 with the tip after the reservation with booking.com indicated that I would be getting breakfast each morning for $15, I can't complain about the breakfast, although I would say that the quality was rather pedestrian. Also, when I told the front desk about the discrepancy and showed the confirmation email from booking.com, I was told it was something I had to resolve with them, and the hotel wasn't really interested in addressing it. Oh well, so much for customer service! On a more positive note, however, the pizza was outstanding, and I never expected to get that kind of quality from a hotel pizza. Great job on the pizza. I ate one two nights in a row. It was that good. The service in the dining room could use some coaching as it seemed rather lackadaisical, which is unfortunate. The staff were friendly, for the most part, but you aren't going to get many compliments when the basics just don't exist in terms of service.

The location is wonderful, in a newly developed part of DC on the river. There are swings for adults and water features for kids on the river, loads of people and families of every ethnicity strolling, taking in the river breezes, the live music on weekends, and the restaurants and bars of every type along the long wharf. Plus it is a 7 minute walk to the Air & Space and Hirshhorn museums and the mall.

The Location was top tier!! We also had a view of the wharf. We laid on the chaise near the window to enjoy the sunset view. There are Diverse restaurants around but my favorite was Pralines and Whiskey Charlie( The Canopy's Rooftop bar)

Tamyra

Breakfast was good, and the views were a delightful combination of the Washington Inlet and a courtyard. The rooftop bar, Whiskey Charlie, had MARVELOUS views, great staff, and lively patrons.
